Our Pediatric Neurologist
Bassem El-Nabbout, MD
Dr. Bassem El-Nabbout is board certified in Pediatrics, Pediatric Neurology, and Headache Medicine. He is also a volunteer faculty member at KU-Wichita School of Medicine, delivering lectures and hosting residents and students at his practice.
Dr. El-Nabbout earned his medical degree from the American University of Beirut. He did his pediatric residency at the University of Massachusetts, then completed a fellowship in pediatric neurology at Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina.
He worked for five years at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock where he was the director of Cerebral Palsy, Neurofibromatosis, and Headache Clinic. He then moved to Wichita in 2009.
Dr. El-Nabbout and his staff treat neurologically impaired children and adolescents from birth up to 18 years of age. He also operates a satellite clinic once a month at the Hutchinson Clinic.
He is affiliated with the American Academy of Neurology, member of the Medical Sedgwick Society and the AMA Association. He also has privileges at Via Christi Hospitals and Wesley Medical Center.

Our Advanced Nurse Practitioner
Tomas Hernandez, APRN, CPNP-PC
Tomas Hernandez is a licensed and nationally certified pediatric nurse practitioner. He received his Master of Science in Nursing in 2011 and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2002 from Wichita State University.
He is licensed as an advanced practice registered nurse through the Kansas State Board of Nursing, giving him the privilege to provide health care for children from birth to adolescence and promote optimal physical and emotional well-being.
He earned his national certification through The Pediatric Nursing Certification Board which validates his skills to diagnose, treat, and manage care. His professional practice has been dedicated to pediatric nursing and nursing education.
Prior to joining Kansas Pediatric Neurology, he worked at Wesley Children’s Hospital for 18 years and has served as an adjunct nursing instructor at Emporia State University and Newman University. He also carries privileges as a provider at Via Christi Hospitals and Wesley Medical Center. He looks forward to participating in the care of your child and your family.
